Job Summary: The Inventory Specialist will play a critical role in managing our inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state regulations. This position requires a meticulous individual who can handle inventory control, track product movement, and maintain detailed records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of compliance requirements in the cannabis industry. This position reports directly to the Inventory Supervisor(s).

 


Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Operations:

  • Accurately record and track all inventory transactions, including sales receipts, transfers, deliveries, adjustments, and waste disposals, in the company’s inventory management systems (Dutchie & METRC)
  • Assist with cannabis waste destruction procedures as instructed by the Inventory Supervisor.
  • Monitor back stock levels and coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure adequate inventory supply.
  • Monitor the Sales Floor inventory for low thresholds and move products to the sales floor to restock inventory levels.
  • Responsible for receiving products, organizing, receiving, quality checking and storing product deliveries compliantly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work areas are clean, follow company cleaning procedures and perform house-keeping/cleaning duties as assigned
  • Adhere to schedule and shift times by arriving on time and prepared for shift.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Accuracy & Compliance:

  • Ensure all inventory data is accurately entered into the inventory management system.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and report any discrepancies.
  • Review all incoming products, inspect for damage, ensure accurate item counts/weights, ensure accurate packaging and labeling
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate labeling and tagging of all inventory items.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to information, proprietary and other internal matters at all times.
  • Adhere to state and local cannabis regulations in addition to company procedures and policies
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records for all inventory activities, including METRC reporting.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Serve as support for retail staff for customer questions, re: product availability and requests

Other Requirements:

  • 1+ year in a cannabis retail or inventory setting preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • Prior experience working with METRC and POS programs preferred
  • Familiarity with METRC and/or Dutchie a plus; training will be provided, so at a minimum the ability to learn and master the programs will be required
  • Familiarity with cannabis products and specific inventory requirements
  • Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, organizational and multitasking skills
  • The ability to work well independently and with others
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas professionally so others clearly understand

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid state issued driver's license or ID
  • Must be 21 years of age or older per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
  • Ability to pass a background check per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
  • Must be able to move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, and over 30 pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Ability to handle repetitive motions for extended periods of time
  • Ability to position self to reach and stock and organize items on storage shelves
  • Ability to accurately count and organize large quantities of product
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation
