Position:Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction

 

Location:Norwell, MA, with projects throughout the South Shore.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers to coordinate activities, resources, and materials to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and contribute to project planning processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and submittals.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation and management of project budgets and financial tracking.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management:
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Attend project meetings, take minutes, and distribute relevant information to team members.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Quality Control:
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure that work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and address any quality issues promptly.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and challenges, proposing proactive solutions to mitigate and address issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Procurement and Supply Chain:
  • Support procurement processes, including sourcing materials and obtaining quotes from vendors.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction project management (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not required)
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and safety standards. (preferred, but not required)
